Corporation of West Chester has achieved national recognition as
the country's leading consulting firm in the area of employee motivation
and retention. They have helped companies reduce employee turnover
by as much as 80 percent, and their client list includes Kroger, UPS,
Sprint, and Mellon Financial.
Sasha is now poised to receive international recognition as well. Karl Corbett, cofounder and president, and Judy Colemon, chief executive officer of Cincinnati's Better Housing League and a Sasha consultant, have been invited to Johannesburg, South Africa, to speak at a three-day conference on employee retention from May 5-7. "If you think about it, it is kind of amazing," said Corbett, of Sharonville "One day, they find us on the Internet. Next thing you know, we are halfway around the world, delivering American systems and processes. 'They" is Moruo Communications of Johannesburg, a company that specializes in organizing conferences designed to communicate effective business strategies to both corporations and government. "Moruo Communications sponsors seminars and conferences all over South Africa," said Corbett, 'They organized this conference to satisfy demands for successful American business models and systems" Already registered to attend the conference are multi-national companies Nestle and Diebold, the Johannesburg stock exchange, South Africa's telephone company and utility provider, several hospitals, and a platinum mine. The event has attracted delegates from other African nations, including Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi and Swaziland. Sasha is one of the few consulting companies in the world providing employee retention solutions," Corbett continued. "We deal with employee retention and we specialize in front line staff retention. There are quite a few consultants who deal with upper level management, top performers, sales staff and the like. We deal with the people that make the goods and deliver the services." "Management often does not realize how vitally important front line workers are," added Brenda Corbett, Karl Corbett's wife and Sasha co-founder. "They are the ones that talk to the customers. They are the ones that make and break a company, determine whether a customer is going to come back." "We help employers keep their front line workers on the job and keep them happy," said Brenda, "When a company understands the incredible cost of employee turnover, when they believe the problem can actually be solved, then we can come in and make some things happen, through training, developing systems, consulting, motivational speaking, coaching and the like." Karl Corbett plans to put several of these techniques to work at the conference. He and Colemon will conduct a workshop to teach eight employee retention systems, and share guidelines on how to track turnover rates, how to assess the real costs of employee turnover. They will also distribute training manuals, scripts and audio tapes. "The tools we'll share at this conference work for any industry, in any country, because we have tapped into some secrets of human nature," said Corbett. Also attending the conference will be government agencies, including departments of health, education, agriculture, economic affairs, and taxing and port authorities. This is Colemon's specialty. An expert on public-private alliances, she has devised effective methods to help government and private industry work together successfully. Karl and Brenda Corbett started Sasha in 1984 to solve the high turnover rate they observed among front line employees. Karl, a San Diego native, brought systems and processes to Sasha; Brenda, a therapist from Montreal, Quebec, brought the human factor. Sasha's consulting team consists of Colemon and additional specialists in the areas of retail, food service, manufacturing, and entertainment. To learn more about Sasha
